Notable Courses
- Systems Engineering - Designed and built a lightweight RC aircraft using engineering principles and practices. I worked in a team of four, and was in charge of the payload design and electronic control systems. The characterisation and hierachy of systems was studied, with the design process within a systems engineering framework considered and applied to the RC build. Quality, costing, manufacture, regulations and reliability considered during project lifecycle.
- Rocket Science - Concepts such as orbital mechanics and astrodynamics are expanded upon and integrated within a project to design, manufacture, simulate, build, and test a G-class rocket. As part of my team, I was in charge of design and manufacture of fins and nosecone, using Solidworks and multiple Creality 3D printers.
- Microgravity - A 2U experiment was designed from a basic experiment outline to a fully fledged microgravity experiment. This unit was self-contained, powered externally, and ran autonomously during microgravity conditions on a parabolic flight. I designed the bus, ensuring modularity and compatability with the experiment it held.
- Radiation and Nuclear Physics - In depth learning of nuclear physics and radiation properties of specific isotopes. Experiments performed in radiation labs to complement learning by recreating classic radition experimental results.
